I was born in Dallas and was raised in Arlington, Texas. I attended Texas A&M University, where I received my BBA in Finance in 1988. Following graduation, I moved to Houston and worked as a Treasury Analyst for Tenneco Gas. After two years with Tenneco, I began my legal studies at The University of Texas School of Law. I served as a Teaching Quizmaster and was elected a member of The Order of Barristers while in law school.

I began my legal career as a trial lawyer at the law firm Whitehurst, Harkness, Ozmun & Brees, P.C., in Austin, where I became partner and worked for 15 years. I then became a founding partner of Austin personal injury firm, Evan Edwards, L.L.P.

My work has included over 17 years of extensive experience with cases involving product liability, insurance bad faith, construction defect and medical negligence. It has been a constant reminder that our lives can be completely devastated, and that you often have to fight for the justice that you deserve. I know how difficult it can be to deal with a sudden tragedy, and I enjoy making a positive difference in the lives of my clients.

My husband, Steve, and I have two children. I’m active in the community, serving on the board of the Texas Legal Services Center, volunteering with Meals-on-Wheels, and teaching Sunday school at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.
